Got our delivery today, lots of sanding going on, hopefully we can see some primer by Friday, not sure if they will install cabinets before or after the paint (Ive seen it both ways in the blogs)
When I built my first house they painted after the cabinets were in. I was there watching all the effort they had to go through to mask them off. It seemed silly, but I guess the logistics of timing everything with multiple houses going up makes things difficult to do in logical order.
I believe SOP is to get the first two coats up before cabinets for the reasons Stuart mentioned. BUT, they will still have to come back through a couple more times to fix various spots. Make sure you go through and open/close EVERY SINGLE DOOR before close. We have found two doors that bind horribly and only recently found them because we NEVER close those doors (Master and Master Closet). Of course as the house settles, this will happen but I am pretty sure these have been like this since we closed.
