ReplyDeleteWe got the egress window too but it is in the finished part of the basement. Did you happen to have them move the egress to the storage room so that you could make that into a bedroom later? That is something that I question myself on if I should have had the egress moved to that room to officially call it a bedroom (per code).
We went with the opposite floorplan so our garage is on the right which puts the deck on the left which wouldve put the egress below the deck which violates codes as an exit point. So we moved it to the unfin side and like it there as it turns out. If your deck is over your egress, I doubt thats legal.
DeleteWe had thought about an additional bedroom because we didnt really need that much storage, but thinking resale and having the bonus room available, we had 5BR already. Plus having that room for hoarding(cough cough, I mean stockpiling) could be valuable sometime in the future.
DeleteLooks awesome! I see the A/C unit. Did you happen to note what size it is? I found out I'm getting a 13 SEER 3.5 ton unit in my Verona. I'm a little worried given I have a 4 ton in my current home which is about 700 sq ft. smaller than the Verona.

DeleteI hope my PM has the wrong info. The Verona with bonus and morning room is 3380 sq ft. No way a 3.5 ton is going to work well. I can see yours is a 5 ton, the 60 in the middle, divide by 12 gives you the tons. I've done some reading and I know there's a lot more math to calculating the size of an A/C but still, my 4 ton unit does not keep up with my current house. I see you have the 410A refrigerant, which is the new stuff. Anybody with R22 systems now is in for a punch in the wallet if they need any coolant this year.
