Pre-drywall Update

We were supposed to be insulated tomorrow for a pre-drywall on monday, but framing, electrical and hvac failed inspection, so that pushes it to wed.  Framing failed for some joist support that was missing, electrical for the metal plates not being on all studs with wires going through them, and hvac for a duct being held too tightly with a vinyl band which made a small kink in the side.

  4. For the Island, you put an outlet on the other side? My original thought was the one they give is enough, but now you have me wondering. What was the thinking for an extra?

  5. Thanks guys! This week has dragged, were ready for some action!

Stuart, after closing Sgt Rich noticed that while the outlet provided on the cabinet end was great for occasional appliance use, when you sit at the other end with a laptop or other device that needs a charge you have to run a cable across the island or to an adjacent room. This way keeps your power cable close and tidy. Im told its a very simple install to insert one later but if youre not handy you should let them do it or call someone. Hubby didnt want to void anything do it himself. --Ericka

    1. Thanks and dont be jealous! Were only benefiting from the people who have come before us (like you). Im sure the next generation of homes will be even better than ours. I heard a Ravenna version 2 is in the works! --Ericka

  9. I like the light switch idea. I'm adding that to notes of things they won't probably do for me. I don't know how much time they allocate for the pre-construction meeting but I'm sure I need double from all the notes I've taken from the blogs.
