A splash of tile with some asphalt on the side

Great progress today, the kitchen backsplash was done with a custom request for a diagonal pattern, driveway laid and mailbox installed. They also moved the water heater to the other side of the stairs. Not sure why but I guess it was for a good reason. Also got a quote for the deck guy to extend to the end of the house for $600, thats nearly half of what RH wouldve charged for that square footage. Also, having the tile guy come back to add some decorative accent tiles to the master tub for $100 while were waiting to have the bathroom updated...score!

a little mood lighting :)

not sure why they moved it but it does look better here

  1. Love the backsplash! Having it set on the diagonal really looks nice. I'm a bit jealous of your mailbox. The post office decided to make our community one with a centralized mail box area. So, someone will have to stop for the mail everyday on their way in or out of the community.

  3. my last house, I remodeled the kitchen from the studs out. when it came time to do the back splash, my wife picked out 1" tile and wanted it diagonal. ugh! never again. it took a while to figure out how to cut with out chipping the corners. BUT, it looks great.
Nice wide drive way. You will love that.

  8. Thanks guys, I think the kitchen is going to be my favorite space. We got the flooring company to hook us up with diagonal for $75. There is extra material and cutting involved and at that price who could say no? --Ericka
